If It Ain’t Broke Don’t Fix It,” features Eli McCall, a high school athlete from Northwest Arkansas that brings something different to the field. He is known for throwing a baseball with his right hand and throwing a football with his left hand.

Growing up, Eli played a handful of sports. It wasn’t until later, he found football and baseball to be his passions. His dad, Joey, had him practicing throwing a baseball with two different gloves throughout Eli’s t-ball games. Thus, the throwing with different hands began.

The older Eli got, the more he became comfortable throwing with opposite…

Coming from a family who finds themselves drinking sweet tea and spending time doing “country-type” things, one could say we fit in with the social norm of a southern-living family. With that, comes our lifestyle being an abnormal from say those who live in places like New York City or anywhere a skyscraper can be seen. In other words, where I come from, we do things a little differently.

I am often asked “What is it like? You know, growing up in anything but a large city?” I always find it interesting to learn more about the different societies and…

Vacation, Anyone?

As there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel in terms of the COVID-19 pandemic, it dawned on me the popularity of traveling in this season. Or possible unfortunate lack thereof.

My family takes a yearly beach trip, and has since my early years. Some of our favorite destinations lie along the Gulf of Mexico, such as beaches in Florida and Alabama.

If you were to ask me this time, last year in 2020, if going on said beach trip would be smart, I would politely hesitate. However, as the President has recently released new…

Within the last year, our world has faced the unimaginable. COVID-19 is a lifechanging disease for many. Families are facing sickness, and some facing levels of loss. Although this pain can be felt on a personal level, pain can also be felt in a societal level.

Our country functions on social interactions. Some ways society sees this is within the freedom of weekend getaways, brunch dates, and concerts. Knowing that concerts were cut short due to COVID, and some still not being brought back, leaves the entertainment industry feeling empty, literally. These entertainers, such as country music star Kenny Chesney…

Growing up, and still residing in Fayetteville, AR, I consider myself an avid Razorback fan. However, my state has felt heartbreak around Razorback athletics within recent years, coining the new term “heartbreak hogs.” As we are in the SEC, football seems to be the dominating sport to compete in. However, for our team, we have done all but compete in previous years.

Nonetheless, we welcomed a new coach last season. Sam Pittman, who now offers the program hope. …

Well, folks, 2020 has come to a close! *subtle sigh of relief*

It is clear to me and most who found themselves in the craziness of 2020 that we are grateful the year finally found its ending. Nonetheless, the show must go on and 2021 is coming in hot! I say this as I received the tragic news, via Instagram, of the apparent separation of Kimye — meanwhile, we’ll be crying in the club! Let me leave you with some encouragement to not let this heartache find you down at the front end of your 2021.

In other news, as…

It’s 2020 — Christmas is all but normal.

I remember, vividly, the one Christmas season throughout my childhood where my Grammy had the brilliant idea to continue our Christmas meals with soup, or even b-b-q; rather than the traditional ham and turkey. I must make note: my family is all but grateful for our time together — as long as it stays as “normal” as possible. Although Grammy was eager to create new traditions, it was evident that the rest of her family was all but eager to do so. …
